At the Diamondhead Water & Sewer District, our goal is to provide safe, clean drinking water and sanitary sewer collection to all of our residents. The Diamondhead Water & Sewer District was formed in 1989 by the State of Mississippi and Hancock County. The District provides water & sewer services to a residential and commercial area of approximately 4,700 customers. The Diamondhead Water & Sewer District is a separate entity from all other City or County municipality and takes pride in the ability to provide quality water and sewer services to each of its customers. The Diamondhead Water & Sewer District owns and operates all water production facilities, distribution system, wastewater treatment plant and the wastewater collection system within the boundaries of Diamondhead. The District operates through oversight from a Board of Commissioners and under the direction of the Executive Director, with the assistance from Operations, Administration, and Utilities Maintenance Departments. The Mississippi Department of Health and Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality regulate all District operations as it relates to the public water supply, wastewater collection and wastewater treatment processes.
